RUNNING COSTS
These are modest - about 5000 pa'anga a year. We pay no rent as the land upon which the library stands was given to us by the government. We have a part-time librarian, no telephone (at present).
Maintenance is undertaken by volunteers and for any major work or equipment we apply for specific grants. For instance; the Papakura Rotary Club in New Zealand has recently replaced our leaking tin roof. The Peace Corps have donated two new hard drives for a our small computer centre and money has been allocated to replace our printer....However our main costs involve education.
As always donations of time or money, no matter how small, are greatly appreciated by not only the committee but the children and families of Vava'u.
